ILA Southeastern Dock and Marine Resolution in Support of ILA Local 1291 in their Struggle for Justice and Fairness from Del Monte at the Port of Philadelphia

Whereas a dispute has arisen over actions taken by Del Monte affecting longshoremen in the Philadelphia area;

Whereas calls of support have come from the International and the District as well as affected locals in the area;

Whereas, the District is preparing a statement of solidarity; and

Whereas the Southeastern Dock and Marine wishes to express its support for the struggles of our sisters and brother in the Philadelphia area consistent with the action taken by the District;

Therefore, It is RESOLVED that the Southeastern Dock and Marine hereby endorses and adopts the action taken by our District in support of the struggle of the ILA for justice and fairness from Del Monte and further authorizes our leadership to circulate the call for the action to our locals and memberships: and

Be it further resolved that our locals are asked to communicate such positions with their members, area unions and central and state labor bodies.
